If you’ve ever been a little lost while reading your camera’s manual, or a photography magazine it could be that you just need to learn to speak “photographer” language. In this article I’ll go over some of the most common technical terms, as well as some less common slang or photographer jargon. By the end I promise you will have a better grasp on the language and be able to have a conversation with a seasoned pro and hold your own!
As a 500px.com user the news this week that the 500px app was taken off the Apple App store with apple citing Nudity, which I wont disagree is available from the app, but if this was for the reason for taking down the app. Apple needs to start cleaning up.
What do i mean by this? Well its simple really if you are looking to take down apps which can supply images of nude people over there at Apple, you might want to start by taking down all the Web Browsers because I can (if i wanted to) find Nudity and other such things using them, far worse than 500px App can offer up with a search.
Im wondering if we can do 300 likes by the end of the weekend? #500px site and my #photography as much as i’d love the likes, my ego is just like yours some #ego and comments would be appreciated..

As a person who takes an awful lot of photos on many different cameras I’ve got a lot of data spread over a lot of platform, and for me the cloud is the best place to store the 20,000+ images I have spanning over 10 years. For the last few months i’ve been using Google Drive for this storage, and Spideroak and Dropbox before that.
While each of these solutions are great, they are cross platform, backed up, secure and systems I can suggest to anyone to use I always felt that photos are supposed to be shown, not just end up as 1s and 0s on a cloud drive in some data centre.
The iPad 3 is without a doubt the best tablet on the market right now for viewing photos and editing and managing as it happens. I’ve been searching for a workflow for a while with the device to get from photo to internet edited and uploaded and come as close as I can so far to almost what i’m looking for.
We spent today finally getting to see a Live event the Paralympic Marathon three times both the Men and Women came past us, i got to see a true hero Dave Weir buzz past at a breakneck speed. However there was a moment very early on which showed just how London has embraced these games and the people who have been performing feats of amazing heroics in them

Street photography is one thing, but capturing the heartbeat of the city is something else. As the user of both an iPad and Android Tablet device i’m finding myself using my Macbook Pro less and less for general tasks, the always on lure and ease of use of apps coupled with better tablet focussed websites with less Flash and more great adaptive content makes using Tablets more and more usable as a computing device .
However there is an area where part of me wishes i could couple a feature of Android and an App from the IOS platform to assist my photography workflow.
I’ve started up a Group on Facebook, where we take photos relating to Single Word each Day Monday to Friday.. However its open to all and I’ve chosen the first 5 words, anyone else can do it next week..
